Rhode Island Senior Hockey League
The RISHL opened in the 1945-46 season. Not since the pre-war days had a competitive circuit been in operation. The CYO functioned in its absence. The league consisted of the Dunnes of Cranston, P & Q of Woonsocket, Callahans of Central Falls and the Dinty Moores of East Providence under league director Dick Rondeau. Most of the lineups included veterans of World War II of whom were ice leaders in their college and high school days. The league increased to six teams in 1946-47, under new league director Jack Boehne, with the Arlington Blues and Providence Clippers joining the league. The defending champion Dunnes repeated as champs in 1946-47 and competed in the 1947 NE AAU Championships with P & Q. The Dunnes would also go on to the National AAU Championships reaching the semi-finals.
