Big Night for Cougar
In January 1963 North Providence High School's John Hoyer had a game most hockey players only dream about. Hoyer rifled home four goals in a one minute and 23 seconds span in the third period as his Cougars came from behind and defeated Mount Pleasant 7-2 at the Auditorium. North Providence, trailing 2-1, grabbed a 3-2 edge before Hoyer went into his act. He scored goals at 8:30, 9:13, 9:34 and 9:53 with Mark McNeilly assisting on each tally and Al DeCellio on the second goal.
