RI Scarlets 1950s
In 1956 the RI Scarlets played against the USA National team at the Auditorium with Providence College and Brown. With each team playing one period each, the Scarlets gave up three goals in an 11-0 combined lose. They competed in the 1956 New England Senior A.H.A. championship in Lewiston, ME losing to Bates 7-1, Arlington 4-0 and dropping a 5-4 decision to Lynnfield in the consolation game. They also competed in the New England A.H.A. Open Championship losing to the Worcester Warriors 8-5 and 6-5 in the best-of-3 series.
The 1957 Scarlets played in the New England Senior A.H.A.
tournament at Bowdoin College in New Brunswick, ME. The Scarlets beat
Waterville Bruins 6-3 in the semi-finals before losing to the Arlington
Arcadians 5-1 in the finals. The 1959 R.I. Scarlets were upended by the
Waterville Bruins 8-0 in the New England A.H.A. Open Championship in Lewiston, Me.
