Club Marquette of Woonsocket team won the 1939 N.E.A.A.U. Championship in Boston, Ma. The team was made up of players from the Club Marquette team in the Inter-City Amateur Hockey League (1938-39 champions) at the R.I. Auditorium and the R.I. Marquettes who played in the New England Amateur Hockey League. They Beat Medford 6-3, Amesbury Maples 7-2, Sandager Club 4-2 (2 OT) and the Boston Junior Olympics 7-3 in four overtime periods to win the championship. They qualified for the U.S.A.A.U. Championship in New Haven, CT besting Massena (NY) Tigers 4-1 before losing 5-4 in double overtime to the Cleveland Athletic League 5-4.
