Providence Hockey Club
Providence Hockey Club was Rhode Island's earliest senior amateur hockey team. The club had been organized for some time and before the East Side Rink was completed several workouts were held at Roger Williams Park. The club goes back to 1907 and was made up of several former Brown University and high school stars. Fred Budlong, "Spec" Paine, "Hoppy" Hunt and Prescott Hill were former Brown players. Hill had been rated as one of the best goaltenders in college hockey history. Earl Bullock represented Technical High on the ice while a member at that school. In 1910-11 they joined the Boston Hockey League played at Boston Arena with Crescent Hockey Club, Milton Hockey Club, Boston Hockey Club, Brae-Burn Hockey Club and Brookline Hockey Club.
